Review Sessions
Whether it is about artistic purpose, refining a portfolio, pricing your work, improving a statement, or just figuring out your next steps, these review sessions are about you: your questions, your goals, and your challenges. More than a critique or consultation, they are a collaborative, supportive space where your work and aspirations take center stage through inquiry and engagement. For over two decades, I have mentored and collaborated with individuals and institutions, supporting artistic growth through tailored programs and personalized feedback.
Feedback, Insight & Strategy
My educational projects focus on integrating critical thinking, economic awareness, processual exploration, and artistic reflection, empowering artists to transform their practices and refine their artworks. In these sessions, we begin with a conversation about your work but also about the questions and uncertainties that keep you up at night, the ambitions you might not even have words for yet, and the barriers that feel insurmountable. We will craft a session tailored to your needs—focused, intentional, and designed to give you actionable outcomes.
What you can expect from our sessions:
Before, we will start with a brief interview to understand exactly what you need, so we can make the most of our time together.
During, I will create a tailored session outline to ensure that we address your priorities in a focused, meaningful way.
After, by the end of each session, you will leave with clear solutions and actionable steps to implement.

”Renato is a professional with the qualities of being meticulous, objective, and critical. Personally, my work has evolved based on the conceptualization of ideas and the materialization of projects that have emerged from the contemporary art programs I have taken with him. Throughout the process, one encounters various pathways that translate into possibilities and enhancements through experiences, references, and technical tools.”

“Feedback has been a valuable space for rethinking ideas and exploring new paths within my existing interests. It has helped me foster more dialogue about my work, breaking away from the constant monologue I was stuck in. This process has been a refreshing opportunity to seek new directions and approaches, both technically and conceptually, while incorporating additional references.”

”My process has been enriched by new references in thought, visuals, and culture in general. During this time, I have produced a series of pieces with a common denominator: human relationships. These relationships embody a perpetual physical and mental movement, connecting in circular and geometric forms—relationships that are synonymous with universal connectivity.”

“As an artist, I find it important to participate in training programs because they serve as a highly useful tool for developing my projects. These programs act as a thermometer for ideas and provide a guide filled with visual, artistic, and literary references that help build a solid foundation for the creation and transformation of ideas. In these training sessions, there is also the opportunity to connect with other artists, which adds another layer of references, as each person works in different disciplines. This exchange is incredibly enriching.”

“The studio as a site-specific space—essentially, the home and the confinement—served as a specific condition both because certain resources were unavailable and because going outside was not an option. Exhibitions were canceled, cultural events suspended, and even some businesses closed. In this context, relational art has been shifting, and we are still in the process of moving it forward. In our first class, Renato shared Daniel Buren's text, "The Artist’s Studio," which critically examines the role of the studio as a device designed to fit into the machinery of the art market. It was a highly relevant and thought-provoking way to start the course.”

“An artistic training program, like scaffolding, supports the artist by offering a fresh perspective on their creative processes. It provides a more focused direction, especially if the artist feels lost in their work, and can help uncover new contemporary languages for expression and creation. I firmly believe that artistic training acts as a guide, enriching both research and the development of the artwork.”

“It is crucial and necessary to join a program to step out of your comfort zone and question other techniques, consider different perspectives, seek new sources of inspiration, and open yourself to alternative interpretations of your art. A program greatly supports exploration and investigation into new forms of expression and methods of communicating ideas you may not have considered before.”
